“Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road is easy that leads to destruction, and there are many who take it. For the gate is narrow and the road is hard that leads to life, and there are few who find it” (Matthew 7:13-14).

Acting Pro Life Saves Lives

God is calling us and calling us to do more to serve others. “Let each of you look not to your own interests, but to the interests of others”(Philippians 2:4). Do we spend most of our day, praying for and taking care of ourselves…not others. Are we asking God for this blessing and that request to benefit ourselves? How are we loving God? If we “seek first the kingdom [of God by obeying Him] and his righteousness [doing good for others], and all these things [we need] will be given you besides” (Matthew 6:33).

Are we trying to serve Him by doing His work on earth? Everyone can! There are countless ministries we can do for the Lord of God, but–other than working for the salvation of souls–what can be more important than doing more to help end legal abortion or abortion overall. In this wonderful ministry, we can also pray for peoples complete conversions and hand them education materials for the salvation of souls while working to end abortion.

Therefore, if you feel God calling you to sever Him, please don’t be shy but happily say “yes, Lord.” We can worry about what others think and be concerned about our image, but who should we really be trying to impress…God or man? Everyday, children are dying and parents are having to live with the horrid guilt they feel for terminating their own child’s life. We simply must help them. The more serious the mortal sin we commit the further away from the gift of eternal life we get…as a greater darkness comes over us making it even harder to repent and change. God wants us to turn people away from this evil and one way is by educating and inspiring them without words, but through our signs and your prayers. With our “yes,” God can do wonders.

Prayer without works is dead, just as works without prayer is dead. These phrases go hand in hand. We can put pro-life messages on our cars and speak about the humanity of the unborn child on our Facebook pages, but if our desire to end legal abortions is only done through actions without prayers, then how can we expect to fully achieve our goal? It’s true that God can still use our actions—to a limited extent—to save lives, but are we really pleasing God that way? Everything we do must be done FOR THE LOVE OF GOD with an ABUNDANCE OF PRAYER directed toward those we’re trying to help, so that our thoughts, works, and actions will be correctly guided by God—through love—and not out of our own pride.

Even Atheists do seemingly “good” things, but if what we do isn’t for Christ, our Creator, who dwells in all of His children, then nothing truly “good” was done and will merit no reward from God nor truly please Him. True love for God, guided through much prayer, must be our driving force behind our actions, then all the wonderful works God wishes to accomplish through us will prosper the way Our Lord intends. By negating this not only will we not please God, but the untold good that He does intend will be lost.

The same is true for someone who’s only willing to pray for an end to abortion but isn’t willing to do any works to support it, allowing the devil to conjure up any number of excuses and justifications for their lack of action. Their prayers (faith) are then “dead,” according to the Bible verse from James 2:14-26, since the devil has intimidated, distracted, and/or convinced them they just cannot do that for God. It’s very easy to get caught up with concerning ourselves with what others think instead of concerning ourselves with what God thinks—which should be our foremost concern. We must live for God, not man. Yet there are some blessed, chosen souls who God only calls to pray and offer up their suffering for sinners, since these souls might be bedridden or have a terrible illness which don’t allow them to perform works outside of sacrifice. However, for the rest of the world, God calls us to have faith (prayer) combined with action–much action.

“Faith of itself, if it does not have works, is dead.” –James 2:17

We need to recognize our weaknesses and implore God to rid our lives of those sins that keep us from praying and serving Him. God can use us for much good, if we let Him.
